Private Postsecondary and
Vocational Education Approval

In accordance with the provisions of California Education Code 94900 mid/or 94915, this institution has received approval to operate from the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. An approval to operate means that the Bureau has determined and certified that the institution meets the minimum standards for integrity, financial stability, and educational quality, including the offering of bona fide instruction by qualified faculty and the appropriate assessment of students' achievement prior to, during, and at the end of its programs. Approval #: 20766. Effective Date: January 1, 2008 Expiration Date: December 31, 2010.

The Agreement between Newport University
and the Department of Consumer Affairs

Department of Consumer Affairs enters into an agreement with NEWPORT UNIVERSITY for the purpose of ensuring continued student protection after the Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education Reform Act became inoperative. The agreement requires that NEWPORT UNIVERSITY meet the terms with California statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to private postsecondary educational institutions or pertaining to non-WASC regionally accredited institutions as defined in Section 94740.5 of the Education Code, as it existed on June 30, 2007. The purpose of this agreement is to provide the private educational institutions from California with a legal method by which the institution may comply with applicable federal statutes, rules, and demonstrate to the United States Department of Education the legal authorization to operate schools under California law from July 1, 2007.
