Newport University School of Law was established to provide quality education to individuals around the world through independent, non-resident study. The four year Bar Preparation program has been developed specifically to provide a sound legal education to those persons who aspire to practice law in the State of California. The Bar Preparation program meets the requirements of the California Committee of Bar Examiners. The program is designed for the individuals who cannot take three years out of their lives to devote to the full time study of law, as required by ABA approved colleges and Universities. It is expected that our students will be able to continue in their present careers as they become increasingly more valuable to their employers and will advance at a more rapid pace as their capabilities increase during the years. Of course, the optimum benefits will accrue when the Juris Doctor Degree is in hand and the Bar Examination has been passed. The four year, part-time program necessitates a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week of study.
The education provided by Newport University does not satisfy the requirements of other states for admission to the practice of law and applicant should inquire regarding those requirements, if any, of the state in which they may wish to practice.
