II. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: One hundred thirty-two (132) semester units (4,092 hours) of successful law study continuously for four (4) calendar years are required for Bar Preparation. Core courses, as indicated under degree requirements, must be taken by each student. These core courses have been designated as examination subject areas by the California Committee of Bar Examiners and by Newport University Academic Committee as needed to insure that Newport graduates are prepared to undertake the practice of law. Students may enroll in optional electives in order to complete the total number of required units.
