If a student is not a resident of California, he or she is not eligible for protection under and recovery from the STRF.  If a student is a recipient of Third-Party payer Tuition and course costs, that student is NOT eligible for protection under STRF.

To be eligible for STRF, you must be a “California resident” and reside in California at the time the enrollment agreement is signed or when you receive lessons at a California mailing address from an approved institution offering correspondence instruction.  Students who are living in California on the basis of a student visa are temporarily residing in California for the sole purpose of pursuing an education, are not considered a “California resident” for purposes of the Student Recovery Fund.  For further information or instructions contact:
